Shot Blasting

Shot Blasting

Shot blasting of all kinds create very high levels of dust. The dust may contain respirable crystalline silica and therefore breathing this dust can cause serious lung diseases like silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and even lung cancer. These diseases cause permanent disability and early death.

Shot Blasting Health Risks

The material being worked on may contain other hazardous substances, e.g. lead.  Skin contact with dusts and prolonged or frequent contact with water may cause dermatitis.  A good standard of control is needed because the risk to health is high.

Shot Blasting Ventilation Solution

Local Exhaust Ventilation is the mechanical engineered solution for Shot Blasting processes, including the reclamation process and sieving processes which also create large volumes of dust.
